About Me
Hi! I am Bailey Peffer, a Senior at Washington State University. I studied at Olympic Community College as a running start student before committing to WSU. I have always had a passion for reporting local news and sports, so what’s a better career than to work in the news industry!
I am grateful to have the privilege of being the KUGR Sports Media Director this year, where we have grown to have a team of 10 sports media members, and we are still growing. Last year, I interned as the Assistant Director of Sports Media with KUGR and was excited when I learned that I would be taking on the role of Director. My role consists of running a team, managing KUGR Instagram and X, as well as sideline reporting. In August 2024, I started a podcast with my friends called “Keeping TABS”, where we dive into the latest trends, explore bold unpopular opinions, and discuss pop culture and sports. I am also a TV Assistant and Anchor for CougHer News, a women-run newscast part of Cable8. In the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, I am an Anchor, Producer, and Reporter for Murrow News 8, a student-run news station. Roles include writing scripts, creating graphics, producing a live show, creating social media content, and filming live shots.
As my time here at WSU draws to a close, I have gained valuable experience in reporting and editing news packages, which has greatly enhanced my overall journalism skills. These experiences have prepared me to thrive in the fast-paced world of journalism and storytelling.
